you don't need to remove it off the rim, just peel it off once dry off the rubber, or mask it off with masking tape, or put those cards around the rim and tire and spray away....

I got my rims back, and very happy with coating. It's a track bike so rims are nicked to **** but the job he did was great! I will post a pic when I figure out how to do that. I'm an idiot.
