At least you passed him :lmao:

lol yea I am ok, got the bike back together Thanks to Dave at competition Cycle and put on a new set of Dunlop slicks and did the race on Sunday.

Basically, I was trying to gain the first position, I was sure I could outbrake the guy in front of me, then out of nowhere the guy in the right showed up and I lost a couple of seconds of attention, those two seconds made me lose my braking marker and Powwww. To much speed entering the corner. I could have gone straight and not crash, but i would have lost many spots so I tried to make it... didn't work out very well, but it was fun

Entirely my fault, best part was that as soon as I got back to the pits I had to clean all the grass off my suit and race straight for an hr on the endurance race - Awesome weekend

Thanks bud, thankfully the bike sliding on top of my leg prevented the bike for getting excessively scratched

How does qualifying work in SOAR? You run a qualifying "race", and then what? Grid positions determined by best lap times during the qualifying race, or by finishing positions in the qualifier? If the latter, how is starting position in the qualifying race determined? How many laps is it?

- Grid for the sunday race is determined by the finishing position on the Qualifying race
- Grid for the Saturday Qualifying race is determined by the position on the previous race. Except for round one which is determined by last years points / when did you pre-sign for the race.

Qualifying is 6 laps and the Race is 10 or 12 depending on the track configuration I believe, others confirm!

Everything is in here http://www.soaracing.ca/html/rulebook.html

Anyone that does track days should come out and race - doesn't get any better..for me at least

Dude, I've just cursed out loud in my office while watching you crash!
Glad you didn't get run over by others. Stay positive!

There's a video somewhere from 2 years ago... one rider got bumped right before any breaking marker..... full throttle.... basically broke the bike in half. I think the rider only fractured his forearm. He raced the next day on a loaned bike and made podium.

Thanks! I actually looked at the rule book and didn't find anything about qualifying, except the points awarded. You have answered my question.

I used to think I wasn't interested in racing but I am starting to change my tune. Maybe next year? Need some more track time, with instruction, and to save some cash for things like warmers etc. Already have a belly pan on order....

Hopefully this year I can come out to at least watch some races.

You probably would have gone airborne if you went straight. Btw... all the above comes with experience. With enough practice sessions and being passed by Aubrey and Scott, you'll get used to a random motorcycle appearing out of nowhere lol

Get more seat time, notice who shows up beside you but don't focus on them, stay on your line.

Majority will tell you that trackdays become very dull and spartan after doing a race weekend.
