I'm thinking of ordering a jacket from Rider's Discount site down in Michigan. They told me they ship via DHL up here Global Express and there's no brokerage fee or anything but there is a COD fee. I'm wondering if another gtam user might have ordered from them in the past, what the COD fee amount was? I'm ordering only about ~$200.

Thanks!

DHL usually charges about $7 for cross-border brokerage, plus 13% GST on the declared value of the shipment to remit to the government.

Who is the "they"who told you there is no brokerage fee? The dealer? Or DHL? If it's the dealer, the dealer can say that because the dealer wouldn't be acting as the broker for you. DHL would.

The way you might get around the brokerage fee is if the dealer is shipping from a warehouse already on the Canadian side of the US border.

Would it matter that they ship via DHL to the border, and then it gets turned over to the post? I'm waiting for boots and thats what they told they do.
