Order of operations for buying a used car?

$14,200 for a 2014 Camry with 57,000 km on it, including winter tires on rims, from a neighbor. We'll see what the shop says after the safety. I think it was right place and right time. My 2015 has over 200,000 km on it.
That would normally be considered a bit high but a deal in this market. Buying new I wouldn't expect to get out of the dealership for much less than three time that and that car is less than a quarter used up.

Used car market is brutal right now, did he get a good deal?

Agreed, pretty much every car I've sold in the last 10 years are going for (or asking at least) more than I sold them for years ago. Absolutely zero worth buying in the 5-10k range as a beater car, all have well over 200,000km and 15 years old. Have even been checking a wrecker website. Everyday they post fixable vehicles with small crash damage and at %90 of retail not a deal to be found.

The CLA35 I wanted to buy didn’t pan out because the dealership actually offered the guy an extra $3000 on top of his buyout as they already had a buyer lined up.

I checked a used Tesla M3 LR from Meadowvale Honda….their car with financing is MORE expensive than the brand new version (assuming FSD disappears to used buyer).

Was about $70/month MORE than a brand new one.

My BILs GTI is coming up for lease and if he offers it to me at buyout price plus 2-3k I’m taking it. He’s got less than 15k on a 2 year old car.

The trade in for my 2018 Volt LT with 113k on it came in at 22k on the website, and 18.5k when they saw photos and gave a ‘firm’ offer.

It's still a vw you sure you are up for the maintenance bills.
