OPP Hiding Spots.

The OPP seem to be targeting sport bikes hard this year. Post your most frequent sightings of OPP / Toronto / Peel / Durham police hiding spots below. Format:

Date:
Location:
Frequency:

Date: Thursday July 14/11
Location: HWY 10 heading north, 2 KM's from 410 exit, OPP unmarked hiding in a dirt driveway on west side, tow truck waiting on east side.
Frequency: Twice

Note: Signal your fellow riders! Tap your helmet. This is really big in Quebec, and works. Get it going in Ontario. Fellow riders ARE looking at you for a wave, so they WILL see you.

Keep this thread moving ...

This would should be pretty obvious since the 410 drops in Speed from 100 to 90 to 80 to match the speed of Hwy 10. I also see OPP waiting at the top of the 427 before Zenway Bvld where the speed drops from 100 to 80 to 60.

I really don't get why cops are paid to be a pain in the ***. They should just pull people over for being on cell phones or driving in between two lanes, wtf is wrong with speeding? Oh well, at least we don't go to prison for speeding like some countries.

And for anyone who thinks speeding kills people: why is it that every rainy/snowy day there is an accident on the 401? I doubt it's from speeding seeing as everyone and their mother slows down.

And to contribute:

407 & 9th Line.

Head south, on the right, after the 407 ramp. Saw the cop walked out and point at somebody. I almost ran him over in my car...I should have. Damnit.

A high speed collision is more likely to kill you than a low speed one.

410 is pretty much bait, they hide under almost every bridge.

The Allen is notorious for police hiding at Eglington and all the way to yorkdale

Oh, gardiner on-ramp at York st. the cop is always at the base of the bridge during rush hour.

OPP hiding spots............too numerous to list.......hint..... a tow truck is alway nearby

I've been noticing more Tow Trucks than ever before the past couple of years (bill 203/hta172 *****) and now more so with a cruiser near by.

sometimes it feels like they're everywhere :confused1:

There is usually an OPP hiding between the guard rails near Whites Road in Pickering. (eastbound)

Morningside and Kingston Rd area is flooded with cops, 43 division is just around the corner... here's their favorite hang outs, as I have come to learn them.

1) This is the part of Kingston road where you exit off the 401 and the speed drops from 100 to 80 to 60 and they're usually stopping a lot of people at this spot, so be careful...

2) Just up the street, in the 80 zone, people usually forget to do the limit as they are getting off the highway and it's a big long boring stretch of road which still feels like you're on the highway...

3) Finally, this one is down Old Kingston Rd. The speed limit there is 50, and after you go down a long steep hill there's usually an OPP standing at the bottom with his radar pointing right at you.

I'm sure there is more, but these are the ones that I could think right at the top of my head.

I think it's just a money grab. I don't think speeding is more dangerous than people who just can't drive. I'm sure the autobahn has less accidents than our highways.

So... it's better to have a high speed collision and get faster to the heaven, than having slow speed collision and spend the rest of the life in a wheely chair:evil4:

Lots of them hiding in these little stations around the province: http://www.opp.ca/ecms/index.php?id=326

Also at the local Tim Horton's off of the highways.

I haven't seen the Toronto police at the Parklawn exit of the Gardiner lately. It used to be 100 kph right to Parklawn, but now transitions quickly down to 50. They used to set up just past Legion Rd.

401 east bound just after Whitby Henry Street overpass on the right - they often sit at the top of the division's private entrance to the 401 EB, also going through Oshawa 401 WB, they sit up the ramps on Simcoe entrance and Ritson keeping an eye on things.

How about you just don't speed over the posted limits? Then no need to worry about where they are. Personally i'm all for them being out there and keeping the roads safe from idiots who want to speed.
