Rule#2 The bike must be in the picture.

Please post a new tag picture that includes the bike you rode to get to this tag location. Thanks.Tag location posted by A.K. in Post#319 of this thread (Tag Location 057) is still up for grabs.

Ok lets try this again... (uploading the right picture this time...)

Old Tag: McCowand and Lawrence Ave (Scarborough General Hospital - 3000 Lawrence Ave East)

I'm going to have to carry a tripod from now on...

New Tag:

No hints...

Awesome! I was affraid when you turned around to take the photo your bike had been stolen.

I was spending so much time trying to balance the camera on a railing, I didn't even notice when the car in the first picture was stolen :)

Balancing on the railing? Why don't you just hold and shoot? I know, less light, longer shutter time, crappier picture. So what? If it is recognizable, nobody cares.

yeah, I know, but I kinda miss seeing the higher quality pix in this thread.

Maybe there should be bonus points for a "Pic of the Week" ... to encourage the use of your digital SLR's ... get some crisp shallow depth-of-field action going. :)
etc.

Digital SLR? Not easy to carry around, plus C-Note will beat me to every single tag if I revert to the camera+laptop combo. :) I like nice shots too, however it is a challenge to get quality shots at night.

Sooooo... Who is going to manage the "Pic of the Week" competition? Votes, prizes, etc. :)

I think that the photo needs a clue... there are tones of signs like that in the city and the pic is dark so we can't even see reference points.

found it!! ... or at least a reasonable facsimile that could pass if i take the pic @ night ... without a tripod ... and ISO100 film ... etc.. :)

Where do you take it to have it developed? Is anybody using film cameras nowdays? I mean besides the professional photographers. However, there is a 45 megapixel camera for pros, it as only $9,000 if I remember correctly.

The hint for my tag:

It is near Cliffside Ravine Park

That would make the game more fun. There is no way I can even start to compete on the "leader board." But I must admit I've enjoyed riding in the GTA chasing tags far more than just riding around in the GTA.

Perhaps shots taken at a tag location that got "scooped" could be included in the photo contest... The alternative would be to take two shots - the one where you scoop me with your Android/iPhone and the other with your good camera to be posted later in the day.

Right - it might be a great idea that has no practical solution. I think I might try taking some better shots just for the fun of it anyway... If I could only wake up earlier in the morning or ride at all hours of the night like you lot!

OK. Since I really enjoy this photo tag thing I am willing to volunteer to coordinate the "Photo of the Year" contest. Can't do weekly, however once a year I can volunteer some time to put something together.

Also, I am willing to contribute 2 x $5 DQ gift card to the prize pool. I will display the photos entered by the tag grabber (crappy phone shot or or quality DSLR shot) somewhere on the net. I will collect the votes towards the end of the year. I think every gtamotorcycle.com member (whether participating in the GTA tag game or not) should have 5 votes for the photos. After collecting the votes we'll have the winners at the end of this calendar year.

What do you think?

Composition of the photo should also be taken into account, not just the quality! Although that would be up to the voters.

First, never say "no" to a volunteer... Seriously, I think it is a great idea - thanks for the generous offer. The only down-side I can see is that the number of tags in a year would make for a hefty volume to browse through when voting. I'm fine with it, I'm just thinking of those who decide to vote. One simple way may be to have taggers volunteer certain images to be left out. I know I've taken some that I am not proud of. Of course, its just a suggestion... please run it the way you see fit. Cheers!

I figured that the owner of a shot would need to enter his/her photo to the contest. Photos posted under the GTA photo tag thread would NOT be automatically entered to the contest. That's why I plan to keep it separate. And that way it is easier to handle the photos entered. If more people express their interest I'll create an email address where contest photos can be sent to and then those will be displayed in an album.
