One of my winter projects....

Well, I did a little and stopped and came back to it, all in all, with the dual headlight mod and everything it was about a month and a half I think. As I said, that was with like weeks going by without doing anything though. A very committed person could probably get it done over a weekend if they know what they're doing. A noob would probably be best to go about it bit by bit and not rush.
well you seriously did an amazing job for your first retrofit. Let's just make sure you soldered everything well- vibrations can be problematic.

Thanks...I soldered and heat shrunk everything...and yanked pretty good on each solder point to test it. I thankfully have done a lot of it in the past which helped for this job. I've heard of people doing this and just taping up the wires though... :confused1: scary!

You know sometimes it holds. One time this guy came to me to fix up his headlight (just a hobby of mine, I dont do this for a living but really enjoy doing it) and we went threw all of his wiring.

Everything was just twisted together and electric taped and it held for years! He told me that he rode in the winter with all the salt and snow and still nothing.

The problem ended up being the central connection unit, one of the capacitors blew up. We ended up replacing the entire system because we couldn't find a similar unit.

How many km's on the bike?

I just wouldn't trust wiring without soldering connections...my bike has 21,000. Just picked it up in December, been making some changes throughout the winter, but I really can't wait to get it out on the road on a nice day.
