"On the go group rides"

Generally, if I see a bike behind me in traffic, following my moves through traffic. I will try to lose the guy. Sooner or later he will try to pass me and get in my way of moving through traffic.

Please don't pull up beside me at a light. I don't want to talk.
I don't know you. If there are two lanes and you pull up beside me in a different lane, we can chat.
But stay out of my lane, I don't trust you.

I don't care one way or the other. I ride staggered behind other riders and or pull up beside other riders at lights all the time and to be honest I don't really care what they think. I'll give a little head nod if they look over but other then that I don't want to engage in a conversation. As long as ppl pass me outside of my lane and preferably on my left...i don't have any issues sharing the road.

i never thought about joining a group ride in progress...maybe I'll have it try that one time to see if they have better routes.

I have had my share of idiots who think they are my buddy and start cutting me off and taking my lane away from me because they came up beside me and said hi.
I don't need it.
I can do without it.
I don't know you, let's keep it that way.

I pull up next to other riders at stop lights all the time just to chat and maybe ask about their bikes, Ive always gotten a smile and a good albeit short conversation. Sometimes Ill kinda group up with them for a short ride, you can usually tell pretty quickly if somebody isn't interested in that, I personally have no problem with it.

^this

It all comes down to personality.. If the guy is a anal and just has a beef with life in general then he is gona have a beef with you.

I absolutely dont mind if some one approaches me at the lights or rides behind me...

What are you talking about. I love life, and want to continue living it.
Just stay away from me and I can continue doing just that.

Have not experience this

What is plane to see here. Those who enjoy pulling up next to an unknown rider to say hi. (in that guy's lane) Don't have a problem with it.

If I am behind some one I will go staggered..whether I know the person or not...albeit a few bike lengths back...i wont pull up next to him at a red light but stop at the same staggered distance I was travelling in...

It's very awkward if I pull up next to an SS...don't know why...

If I see someone in the distance, even a speck, I'll do everything in my power to get up to them. This accomplishes two main goals: the "me too" factor as in "hey I see you ride a bike how about that so do I" and, the no less important, "did you see how fast I caught up to you obviously I'm some kind of star rider and not to be taken lightly". Then I'll shoot off on a side road because I ride alone man.

Yeah, I hear you. I have to catch up to another rider, just to see what kind of bike he's on.
I have seen some pretty cool bikes that way.
