Older RCA TV has 3 colour arcs and no picture

1). Rear projection TVs have an awesome "feature" - over time the seals around the three CRTs seize, and the cooling fluid starts leaking out of them. That cooling fluid really nicely rusts the boards and sometimes shorts stuff. Considering that the PCBs are sitting right at the bottom of those little picture tubes, the result is "fun" to see.

interesting that you say this, i found some liquid under the tv and it was colourless, odorless and didn't smell like cat pee (which would be about the only way a liquid could get around there).
 
I fixed mine replacing a few caps on the board in the tv $4.50 in caps 30 cents in solder....after chasing down the offending circuits. There is a guy in Brampton that can fix it fairly cheap and does a great job, just make sure you get a direct price from him though. PM me for his contact info.

for what i would spend in gas driving to brampton... thanks though.
