older guy looking to get M2

Good work, congratulations! Two years I got back into it after a very long hiatus and now I cannot imagine life without a bike. Ride safe![/QUOTE
Also a returning rider and trying to make up for lost time. Really enjoyed all the GTMA rides I have been on.

ditto here

Well, your story sounds all too familiar.

I too, at a tender age of 46, began riding for my first time. Always wanted to, but raising a family, career as most of us had come first.

For some reason, many men see the clock ticking as they approach 50 and want to get in as much as possible before they cannot. I could write a book on this.

The very best of luck and enjoyment to you and hope you enjoy this passion as much as I do.

Congrats on your progress so far!
I'm in your 'hood (Bathurst/Steeles) in Thornhill. I'm close to your age (50), but I've been riding since I was 16. Currently on a Suzuki DR650, but looking for local riders to tooll around with on the rare chance I can get away from the house and ride.
I also have quite a bit of experince with Suzuki GS-series bikes (I've had 6 of them).

Took delivery of my new (used) motorcylce. I guess that completes the circle. I feel I need alot of practice on side roads before I will be confident enough to venture onto the busier city roads. I need it to become second nature before I will feel comfortable to venture further. Thanks to all for the comments and advice along the way.

Congrats! If you ever need any advice or tips (maintenance or riding), don't hesitate to ask.

Welcome to the forum. Other than some dirt bike experience as a kid, I started riding about 9 years ago, at the tender age of 42.

I highly endorse the M1 exit course taught at a variety of facilities. They take you from a 0 experience to being ready for your M2.

I think anyone getting ANY type of licence should have to take the M1 exit course!
