oil filter wrench cap where to buy

okay great i was mainly just curious if the crappy tire ones work as good as good as others. i have had some bad tool experiences from there!

I picked mine up from nappa since Canadian tire didn't have small enough size for motorcycles

To needlessly echo those before me - Crappy Tire's smallest one will do. I use it on my Ninja500, Hyundai Elantra and Protege5.

Watch the CT ones. They have these plastic ones that fit x amount of filters. The problem is they are stepped with 2 ridges. So they like to spin on a tight filter and are basically useless. Find a good metal one that fits. Any bike shop should have them. Honda offers a killer one that's an OEM tool but is like 40.00 and fits the Kawi 16097-004 and Honda filters. As well as the Yamaha 3gh and 5gh spin on, basically most of the sport bike line.

Personally I own the Honda one. Works fantastic on the 09 to 12 zx6r that has the stupid oil filter tray that makes it hard to get any other one in there because most have a lip on them.

My 2 cents.

I am using Vise Grip style Pliers to get the filter out. I found that the filter wrenches often slip. Just my experience :)

My bike's oil filter is the same size as a civic, so yeah the auto parts stores will be fine.

left and right hand

Or double handed for those with large filters

Or just get a K&N filter that has a 17mm nut on the end for very simple removal.

Am I the only one that used a hammer and screwdriver? As Bagman said, you're not trying to save the old oil filter...

I used to do this too...works everytime no problem. I spend a tiny bit more now though and get the K&N filters with the nuts on the end. Buy them a few at a time online, saves a fair bit of hassle.
