So, driving into work this evening.... I get rear ended by a five ton box truck. Quite the hit, my seat back broke, My F150 is probably a write off.

As a result of the impact My vehicle was pushed forward into far enough that I impacted an enclosed trailer that was being pulled by an SUV...
What do you think was in that trailer...?

Yeah... Guy's brand new sport bike being trailered home from the dealer.

Talk about a ****** day.

Crappy day for that guy. You too I suppose but hey it's a motorcycle forum so..... ;)

I think if you are 100% stopped then it’s all good. Just tell insurance you were 100% stopped. Hopefully the guy up front doesn’t say he got hit 2x. Once by you, and the second time by the guy that hit you.

Good luck in the search for a new truck! At least you’ll get more $ for your write off as COVID pricing on trucks is crazy bananas.

That sucks. Hope you arent too banged up. Did the bike take a direct hit or they are concerned about damage for being restrained in a crash?

The flipside of that argument is that would have been a lot worse if hack got pushed into a bike instead of a trailer.

True... They actually said it was a lucky thing I was in the way...Lol.

'Good guys. 'Feel bad for the bike's owner...

Not that it makes a difference but is that rust coming out of the tailgate

It's a Ford.... Of course its rust..!!!

Lol
Not anymore. I wish they went a little thicker on the aluminum though.

I think you're right about new truck time. Crumple zones and body on both ends, broken seat, seatbelt tighteners and airbags probably fired. That's a lot of money. The front end alone is getting close to my baseline estimate of $8K if the hood takes a hit.

Yikkies, well that is one way to meet a fellow rider. Glad no injuries, hopefully this all gets sorted out in your favour without too many headaches.

At least the driver of the large truck got charged with careless. We will be getting police reports soon. Hack it is true we are lucky that your pickup took brunt of that hit. It could have been far worse. New bike has broken rear passenger peg bracket, fender/mudflap all busted and license plate shovel holder busted. My SUV they saying might be a write off. Le sigh lol
