do you think its safe to mail something through them. I'm worried so disgruntled postal worker who was forced to go back to work will accidentally misplace my parcel.

Guys I heard on the news today sounded pretty ****** off....of course it's not like the media will sensationalize anything.

News tonite stated that we wouldn't get any mail till tomorrow. My Hydro bill was in the mailbox this aft.Lol.

They may or may not have sexual intercourse with your package. I'd hold off on mailing out baked goods for at least a month or two.

I'm sorry....was it ever really 'Safe'? Someone from Canada Post or a friend of theirs is currently wearing my wedding band from Ireland...

LMFAO! No livestock blowup dolls either please.....:agave:

Dare I ask why you were mailing a wedding band?
I wasn't. The company (in Ireland) that made it was mailing it to me for my wedding (I realised later it was the first...of MANY...signs I shouldn't have married him!) and it was coming to me through Canada Post once it arrived in Canada. Only, it never got to me once it was accepted into the country. They like to drop parcels marked 'Fragile' in my experience as well...

Thats silly. I'm sure the postal worker would have more sense than to take his frustration out on the public. They are people like you and I so give them some credit as people. If they have anyone to blame, Canada post and their union should be their first target.

the amount of mail that gets stolen "internally" is frightening. and the company won't do anything about it.

Stealing something is one thing. Getting caught stealing it is another all together. Canada Post takes theft very seriously. When they do catch up with you they have the resources to nail your *** to the cross. A letter carrier can be fired immediately if an addressed package accidentally goes home with them and that is easy to do when many supply their own transportation to deliver the mail.

I would mail something without any worry. In all walks of life there are a-holes but for the most part just good people. Canada Post employees are no different.

All sorts of mail theft goes on. My parents realized none of the mail for their company was being delivered. Customers weren't getting bills, cheques, etc. Apparently the carrier that was picking up from that mailbox was just taking it home and stock piling it in her basement. Easier than doing her job I guess. This happens WAY more than you realize.

I just got 2 out of 6 packages Ive been waiting on, these were the ones that cleared customs before the lockout but didnt get delivered. We also got a little bit of mail, but not all of it....

Ive never had anything lost in the mail system, and Ive shipped over $50,000 in bike parts through CP in the last few years. The worst that has ever happened is a package had the corner of the box ripped off, and I lost a few bolts from one of the packages. I normally have anywhere from 1-5 packages coming in via CP every week...

On a regular basis we get someone else's mail for the same address, "just" a different street name. I can only assume the reverse is also happening and we just don't know about it. I totally lost confidence in their reliability.

A friend who is a letter carrier once told me if he murdered his supervisor, CUPW would fight to keep his job. If he stole mail, CUPW would hold the door open while they threw him out.

First of all they were not forced back to work... Canada Post was force to let the workers back to work. BIG DIFFERENCE.

Thats not really what happened, the government appointed an arbitrator to decide what deal is going to be made. You can say CP locked them out, I say they had too, its either lock them out or go out of business. CP claims they lost $70 million in revenue after 12 days or rotating strikes. How do you expect them to survive that?.....Everyone keeps acting like it was CP's fault for not caving into the unions demands. IMO CP offers were reasonable, and its the unions fault for not accepting them and wanting more....IMO if CP gave them what they wanted, they would be on strike again next year yet again asking for more.

Ive come to the conclusion that anyone on the unions side, either works for a union or is not affected by this enough to care. Anyone like me that works for or owns their own small business, does not stand by the unions decision to strike every year or 2 affecting us greatly....Im almost certain I had a thread about this same situation only a year or 2 a ago when they were on strike last...It never ends! It just keep coming back

Huge +1 to that. Personally it didn't affect me much....but I can see how it affects businesses and people who rely on cheques in the mail.

I will eventually be in a union if I get the job I want and it totally bugs me what the union can do to people who don't agree.
