We decided to postpone to next weekend. Too cold (draw a line at sub zero temps). Next weekend seems perfect for it.
 
I would also suggest going south rather than north- less chance of hitting snow, just in case.
As for health insurance, a weekend of coverage is only $11 at CAA......you can do it online with a credit card and print out the policy and stuff it in your tank bag.

Good luck. I am jealous. If I had a streetbike right now I'd be all over this.
 
Thanks Omnivore. Yes, we have changed the plans and will head south. Although not as far as NY, the other reason for waiting a week is to give them more time to clean up after Sandy. The caa tip is great. Thank you for sharing. There is power in the "collective mind"!

Done! 20 hrs more or less. Freaking awesome! Thank you guys for doing this as a group!
