Northern Lights Tonight

I hate you both. We need less nickleback in our lives.

Went outside around 10 to have a look. Barely anything to see. 5 minutes later it rolled in from the north and was on. The southern cutoff was the edge of the lake, oddly. Went back out around midnight, nothing. Lived on Nottawasaga Bay for a number of years and use to see them all the time, so it's not a spectacle like it would be for someone who doesn't get north regularly.

Saw them last night for the first time. Meh. Slightly interesting but they weren't the awe-inspiring spectacle I was hoping for. Pictures look more vibrant than with our eyes. Almost impossible to see through windows. Go outside and look in the right direction (which was ~NW for us) and they were there.
I didn't see them last night, (was a sleep ), saw them back in the late 80's or 90's sometime.
Anyhow apparently depending on your location you might not see them well but if you use your phone nightvision mode it helps bring them out in the photos.

What a crazy world eh, using your phone nightvision mode...who would of though of that a few decades ago.

I wasn't implying any type of fandom.

Every time I do, it makes me laugh

That comet will be hard to beat what I saw for 3 nights in South Africa. Not my photo but exactly what I saw and it did take my breath away

That diaphanous tale just went on and on over the dark South Atlantic. Best celestial event I've experienced.

Unfortunately, what we got was hardly a good show. You could barely see anything with you naked eye. That video I posted shows what a REALLY good show is actually like - you don't need a camera to pickup the colours. The time I experienced it the green was so bright it was lighting up the farm fields in the distance - a perfect combination of a very strong storm and a slim moon.

We were a half hour north of Havelock at an AirB&B cottage for the weekend and were hoping to see that, but it was cloudy unfortunately.
