Hey everyone - Here's a brief introduction: I got my M2 licence during the summer of 2011 however, I got my first bike only 2 weeks ago! I've been out a few times and I'm loving it (as rusty and newbie as I am).

This looks like a welcoming forum so I'm looking forward to participating in a few of the discussions.

Welcome! I am a newbie, too. Nice first bike. I will be getting mine in the Spring. Can't wait to get out there.

Welcome and congrats. I've always loved the look of Monsters. I see you got Termis on. Sounds like a beast doesn't it :D

Welcome to the forum. That's a great first bike. I love the sound of my termis as well. I just don't understand why they ship the termis with the silver exhaust guards. I think I am going to paint mine black. Also, get rid of those ugly frame stickers.
Ride safe amd have fun

Welcome & nice bike...Cheers!

Always had a question about the Duc's.

I think they are drop dead beautiful bikes.. but something about the way they sound just doesn't do it for me. I feel like they sound more like a 250cc bike :S

The difference between them and the CBR's, ZXR's and GSXR's of the world is night and day... they just don't have that high pitched scream that sounds so good to me... any insight on this?

I've read that some of it has to do with its dry-clutch and that's why the idle is so rough and harsh.

The Ducati has its own distinctive sound kinda like a Ferrari when you hear them you know what they are just by the sound, I like the screaming sound from the Japanese bikes also but in the ducati sound it's more of a bark or growl because of the L-Twin engine!

The Duc is a twin, the Japanese SS bikes are four cylinders.

Ah makes sense thank you. Sorry for the stupid question.

Edit: Just found a good comparison tool on the bikes.. are all of the Duc's L-Twins? Or do they have any 4 Cyl models?

Can anyone chime in as to why Duc fore-go the 4 cylinder layout found on most jap-rockets?
