This is what we did, replaced the dinky little strike plate with one that is the height of the door secured with 10-20 longass screws.
Yep, that's a good tactic for sure assuming there's a good strong stud in there to hold it. But even if it's still a ****** stud, much like a piano hinge holds a lot of weight compared to it's size and length of screws used, you can make up for crap with quantity sometimes lol.
The next weakest link then becomes the lockset itself. Considering how much stuff is cheap chinese garbage now, well, I suspect with a super strong strike like yours the next point of failure would be the lock itself before the door itself or frame would come apart.
But we're talking a lot of abuse by that point, no question. Chances are even a bear would have moved on to easier prey by that point, as would many opportune thieves who don't want the unnecessary attention that bashing on a door for 10-15 minutes would likely yield.
The door in this video was clearly not setup beyond the standard cheap strike and lock setup, which is why the bear basically walked through it. Any half decent sized human shouldering into it would have done the same.
