OP What battery trickle charger did you get at Cantire? This is important because a computerized trickle charger such as an Optimate, CTek or Battery Tender will automatically turn off and then on, depending on the state of your battery. Other manual trickle chargers will charge at 1.0 amps but will not turn off. Keep it on all the time and it will eventually boil your battery dry. Cantire sells both. With the manual one you will need to manually disconnect it after a number of hours, as spec'd in the instructions.
I really like my CTek 3300. Put it in motorcycle mode, connect and forget. It turns itself off and on by itself.
