Ninja 250r vs CB250R Acceleration Comparison.

From a realistic point of view I know that the Ninja 250R is not a quick bike. The original intent of thread was to compare the acceleration of two 250 cc bikes. (Ninja 250R and CBR 250). I think both bikes accelerate fast enough for their intended use.

Official acceleration for Ninja 250 is actually just below 6 seconds at 5.8. So yeah, even though slow for a bike, you're talking about maybe 1% of the stock cars if that.
My SV650 is still fairly slow and the acceleration is 3.8. SS bikes all do less than 3 seconds.
Under 3? I did a quick search for the zx6r 0-60 times and everything said 3.4. My 650R is apparently 3.8.

I've riden the wifes 250 on many occasions, and when compared to other bikes sure, its not quick. When compared with cars however I would definately give it the "quick" thumbs up. I regurlary beat cars off the line at stop lights, even when they try to put up a fight lol.

As for the ninja's competition in the CBR 250. Its a single piston design which i think is its major drawback. I would really like to see the brazilian Ninja model come to north america however. I would want a fuel injected Ninja.

i did say RR....

I think he is referring to the old CBR 250RR ....those bikes had close to 50 HP and redlined around 18,000 rpm and weighed as much as the current 250 cc bikes. Those bikes were alot faster than todays 250cc equivalents... I only wish I had that choice when I purchased my new 250R...
