Ninja 250r vs CB250R Acceleration Comparison.

they don't even look to be in the same class...NINJA FTW!!!!!

Wow, I didn't realize just how much faster the Kawi was. I can't wait to drag a CBR 250 for pinks 'cause that sh*t's in the bag.

i think a stock 4 door base model honda civic is faster lol

I realize that these bikes are relatively slow compared to most bikes. But just out of curosity where can you buy a stock Honda Civic 4 door that goes from 0-100 at around 6.5 - 7 seconds.

According to some the new ninjas, although carb boost 75 to 80 mpg. The cbr according to cbr250.net, 68 mpg. It appears Kawi is beating them on mpg and performance.

Technically I would think the CBR would be slightly faster off the line because it has 0.9 Nm more torque which also hits 3000 RPM sooner. Although that really only matters if you're being nice to your clutch and not revving it up and slipping it a little.

Kinda like how a 650R can be faster off the line against a ZX6R up until about 90 kph (the 650R has almost the same peak torque but it is several thousand RPM sooner), at which point the ZX leaves it in the dust.

Personally, I feel any boost in speed after 100 kph isn't really necessary on the street anyway since you can't go much faster than that and stay close to legal. For racing, you'd want that extra top end for sure though.

Since you asked..........

PERFORMANCE (C/D EST):
Zero to 60 mph: 6.6 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 15.0 sec

They have a 4 door version of this model and have been making one for a few years now. :)

I think you missunderstood the original comment. He said stock base model 4 door Civic. The link you just posted talks about the Civic SI model, which is not a base model Civic and has an ouput of 200 hp. In that case if the 250R can accelerate as fast as a 200 hp car. I would say that is farily good performance for a 250 cc bike.

I'd actually argue that the 3-6k rpm range doesn't even matter in any measure of aggressive acceleration, since you're going to be keeping the bike in the power band from right off the line...

Official acceleration for Ninja 250 is actually just below 6 seconds at 5.8. So yeah, even though slow for a bike, you're talking about maybe 1% of the stock cars if that.
My SV650 is still fairly slow and the acceleration is 3.8. SS bikes all do less than 3 seconds.

Provide one single solitary link(or multiples) that shows a documented 0-60 time in under 6 seconds for the stock Ninja 250. Must be from a respected source.

Yes google is. Here is a far more reliable source.....not just a site created by some fanboy like bestbeginnermotorcycle

" glance at the dyno shows exactly that, the Ninja 250R putting down 3.68 more ponies. As for torque, the Kawasaki lags slightly behind with a 1.81 lb-ft disadvantage. This added torque gets the Honda off the line quicker initially, but these bikes are quickly into the horsepower range, which helps propel the Kawasaki to a much quicker 7.7-second 0-60 mph time compared to the Honda’s best of 8.5 seconds."

This is showing the previous version of 250. It had one or two more ponies than the current reworked 250 Post 2008. Kawi brought the power down more into the mid range for the new version as the old one was a screamer ;)

I've heard this as well. I highly doubt 1 or 2 extra hp's would reduce a 0-60 time by over 2 seconds. It would take more hp than that.

Looks like its a 4hp (peak) difference actually. Pre2008 it had 40hp and Post2008 its 36hp.

Does that mean its gonna hit 5.8 sec? I have no idea lol Maybe if my 90lb when soaking wet nephew tried ;)

I find the biggest problem with quarter mile and acceleration stats based on these low cc bikes is the weight of the rider comes into affect big time. If the theory is right and 10lb = 1hp then my nephew has a 11 horses on me lol. Thats allot considering the bike only pushes out 36hp.
