In response to continuing rumors of a potential National Hockey League expansion team in Las Vegas, ESPN writer Scott Burnside noted several obstacles that would be faced by the city if it were to become a professional sports market, including the presence of legal sports betting, scheduling conflicts with the large amount of residents who work nighttime and overnight shifts, and that the casinos would be unlikely to give away tickets to such events as a promotion, as they run contrary to a goal of encouraging patrons to remain in their facilities

Just give quebec city its team back, they live, breathe and breed Hockey and built a goddamn new amphitheater in the hopes of getting it back.

And...i don't know... they kinda have the WEATHER FOR IT TOO. Get some MTL vs QC City rivalry going again.
 
Problem with QC City is the same as it was 20 years ago: the area's population is borderline as far as an NHL market is concerned, revenues are in CAD while most costs are in USD, and most players don't wanna go there.

Would love to have the Nordiques back but I'm not too hopeful.

I think Vegas would simply need to stop taking bets on the NHL. It's a low-volume sport for them anyway.
