My current Suzuki GS500F has lowered handle bars (done poorly as I can't fully turn my bike without locking my brake levers) .

DUDE! U've gotta adjust them! It's waay to dangerous if you accidentally lock up your brake on a hard slow left. I have the clubmans 7/8s on my GS500F. When i first installed them it locked up the front brake. A quick adjustment to the lever mechanism and all was gravy =D Literally just unscrew, adjust, tighten.

When I first picked up my bike, my throttle cable was so tight that if I turned my handlebars all the way to the left, it would pull and give a **** ton of gas.. fixed right away.

Check the chart on the bottom.

2006+ seems to be the newest version with minor changes. Previous ones are probably nearly identical (I am no mechanical engineer) but you should look for the seat differences. Some people like the one seat, others like me think it looks like poo.

Check

And post a similar topic to see what they say; I'll be doing the same later in the year.

the r6 is great, ive had a couple of them. But i am not convinced its a bike for the street, the r6 makes its power up above 10k rpm... below there, it is a gutless bike. But once you hit that 10k rpm the thing takes off. but you will rarely ever find the space ont eh street to open it up that much.
I had a triumph daytona 675, it was produced more power down low with its triple engine, instead of an i-4.

but something with a v-twin type engine might be the better bet for a street commuter. get more power in the low-mid rpm range.

So back on topic. r6. Any year in particular to look for?

I remember when i was ninja shopping there wasnt many differences between the years for the ninjas. Anything in particular i should be careful with when searching for an r6>?
So if you decided on a R6 then go and seat on one, asking questions here is not relevant as you already decided

Hm...good point, I'll do it tmr morning. Though I think it may not go out much further. Due to the lowered handle bars the dash is being held on by a custom metal plate; the vortex (I think) handlebars start smacking the dash if I try to move them up further and stuck. My mistake for buying the bike, but meh, live and learn.
