Newbie question: stock bike

FWIW I've seen way more stock motors grenade at the days I've been to than built ones.

how about other upgrades?
useful? worthy?

crash protection - body work, case covers, clipons, rearsets
everything else is a nice-to-have, i have a bunch of stuff on my bike i don't really need but then again, a good deal is a good deal. buy what you can afford. the largest and non-recoverable expenses mainly come from operating the bike, ie - trackday fees, tires, instruction, bike setup, food/gas etc. If you keep your bike in one piece, it generally retains its value later on if/when you decide to sell it.

that zx6 posted above looks like a good deal, and is sold by a forum member...unlikely to go wrong with that.

^ I would add an aftermarket master cylinder and SS lines to that list. Huge improvement/upgrade.
+1 for that Ninja.

one more question:
how important is the mileage?
one of them has 4000km, another 12000km, another 20000km; but you never know how many of them are from track use

nobody?
:protest:

Both times I bought a bike, I had someone there with me with way more experience, I will share what I know.

Things I would check for:
1. Forks/fork seals (no leaks)
2. Frame/subframe/swingarm damage
3. Put it on stands and run it through the gears
4. Tire/brakes condition
5. Open the rad and check for corrosion
6. Leave it to get to temp and make sure the fan kicks on

+ Anything that you would check on a normal bike!

That Bike has frt braided lines, brakes are extremely good for track days.

Jay is my buddy (disclosure) but right now that is probably the best deal you can get out there. I was behind it at Mosport and Runs solid.

I don't doubt it, I would buy it if I had more garage space. lol
