New years resolution

If you want to kick back and relax and be a part timer in your business..................... don't get engaged!
If you want to retire at anytime in your life before 75 .............................................don't get engaged!
If you want to keep your business in the future ......................................................don't get engaged!
If you want to have a hope in H3LL of retiring ........................................................don't get engaged!
If you want to save thousands not having a girl fantasy wedding day ..........................don't get married!
If you want to keep your sanity ............................................................................don't get engaged or married!

I could go on for ever but I hope you see the trend :)

I had the "don't expect to get married any time soon" conversation with the GF the other day, she was not pleased but as I told her, I don't want her to have "unrealistic expectations"

Not all girls fantasy weddings are expensive. Heck my dream wedding it at my family farm on the top of the hill outside, leaving the ceremony on dirtbikes. super cheap.

Already have 40k soon 50k set aside for wedding. Wedding will be done by my standards not hers. If she wants something she can pay for it.

50k for a wedding? Buddy. I'm all for having a wife, companion or what ever but have your parents not talked any sense into you? Lol

Uhhhhh...... never heard of a male bride-zilla.

I'll stick with my $10K wedding (which will be just as nice and my guests won't leave starved with the "fancy tiny" food servings) and putting the rest as a down payment on a wicked house and honeymoon in Hawaii.

I will probably have my wedding in India with lots of close family there so flying + hotels etc... it adds up!

To each their own man. But that's a tonne of cash that could be used for your future with her.

Give enough notice and I'm sure some of your family could pay their own way or at least contribute.

All the best man. I'm sure it will be a great day regardless.

:)

My wedding was 10k. I didn't even want a wedding but I felt obligated for my family and in laws sake. My wedding was on my parents farm. We had BBQ steak. It was a huge party. My friends and family still talk about how it was the most fun, relaxed wedding. I hate traditional stuff so there was none of that. Unless you're rolling in dough, 50k on a wedding is dumb. Such a waste.

I'm not even close to getting married or engaged. Always good to prepare now for things you know that will come. The money sits in an account accruing interest so I don't mind if it takes a while lol. I also it as collateral to finance business so all good.

Great read, and pretty motivating. Thanks for posting it. I agree with pretty much all of it.

Agreed - thanks karentsang

"I just wanted to tell you that you're in my thoughts. Good luck -- let me know if that cured you." - lol

If you guys like that 6 harsh truths article, may I suggest another straight-up article written by the same author, now that he may have some "cred" - 5 ways modern men and trained to hate women. It would seem appropriate for much of the GTAM crowd.

Not bad but the other article was much better IMHO. He's not really saying anything new in this one, or saying it any differently than other people have said/written in the past. There is also some parts I don't fully agree with (mainly; all successful men becoming successful for poon).

Going to keep realistic resolutions...

Eat more greasy food that tastes good. **** the gym. Drink more different types of beer. Buy a defibrillator.

I must eat more, spend more on good food! cuz i'm born to eat!
