New videos on the best motorcycle roads and trips

Hi,

I recently started to get on film some of the best motorcycle roads out there. Having a lot of fun doing it. The goal is to build a road guide on my site that'll be combined with videos on YouTube. So far two videos and a slideshow have been made and I'd appreciate any inputs, suggestions, routes.. The videos are captured using a GoPro HD camera on my Kawasaki ZX-9R. This is just the beginning and many more roads to come. Here's what's up for now:

Video 1: Mount Washington Road, Hurricane Mountain, Bear Notch and Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire

Video 2: Vermont's Route 17, the Appalachian Gap, and Smugglers Notch Pass

Slideshow with some video: Tail of the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Blue Ridge Parkway and some top twisties in West Virginia and North Carolina. WV is wild

That's it for now.. More to come. :p

That is great! I rode Vermont#17 about a month ago with a buddy and its an AWESOME road... we ran back and forth on it for a good few hours!! The climb up to the lookout half way is steep, doesn't show up in the video.

Great work and keep it up, I will use these videos deciding future destinations!

Thanks! That's great to hear. If it can be of some use to riders, at least eventually as the repertoire of roads grow, then that would be cool. VT 17 is a sweet road and yeah the elevation doesn't show. And it ain't too short either. Looking forward to getting back out there and capturing some more roads. Happy riding!

Any pics from 19 in WV? New River Gorge stuff?

Leaving Tues Aug 24th en route (the long way) to Indy for motogp's.
Should be able to easily make Morgantown WV in 6-7 hrs from home.
Then headed down 19-400 kms of technical tight twisties. Once I get south of Charleston, I'll turn north east. A few hundred more kms of red route technical twisties will put me just north of Lexington KY. Then thru Bloomington on to Indy for Fri morning. Sty to watch the races all wknd, then homeward via I69 (ZZZZZZZZZZ!) on Monday.

The third video is up on YouTube. This time featuring Maine's beautiful route 27, 113 through the White Mountains and New Hampshire's 302 through Crawford Pass. I mixed some clips up trying to make it entertaining with some humor.

@Omnivore.. Sorry I haven't visited the forum in some days. I don't have pictures of Route 19 nor of the New River Gorge. My ultimate sportbike video does have some pictures of some great roads in WV though. They start in the middle or so of the video, are titled with WV.. I got a bunch of other roads documented but not on the site yet. It's very time consuming. One of these days. Sounds like an awesome trip though. If you want to inquire about any others let me know and I'll see what I got. Have a good trip and safe riding!

These two new videos feature some of the most fun twisty roads in the northeast with more on the way. The first link.. The latest and best yet with an 80s twist. Thanks for watching!

Damn.. The first video which I put a lot of work into was blocked by the Warner Music Group due to the song Land of Confusion by Genesis.. Some studios now work with YouTube to advertise their music but not this one. Gonna have to redo it :( And it was so good. At least the second one works fine.

New York Essex CR 6, Tracy Road and CR 24, Adirondack Park

That's some nice editing you have done on these videos! Well done.. Every time I go by editing my ride videos, it can really be time consuming and become almost like a full time job; however, you have given me some real good ideas on them.

Keep up the great work!

What application do you use? Adobe Premiere?

Yeah it sucks.. But looks like I'll be able to keep the intro which was the best part.. Just have to change the song.. Too bad as it had some funny clips from the Land of Confusion video. Gonna have to find an 80s alternative.. I use Video Studio Pro X3. Yeah it is a lot of work editing it all and going through many clips for the best scenes. But getting creative can be fun and it makes for nice memories. The only real editing I do on the footage apart from mixing the clips is an auto tone adjustment which brightens it up some. Then it's all about the exporting format and this software has a YouTube export which generally makes it easy and quick. They have a trial. I plan on trying some different software soon such as Sony Vegas. Keep at it.. Til next time!

I was just about to remove the video from YouTube when I landed on one on how to dispute WMG. You said it up there :) With the new copyright laws and the Genesis song credited in the description the video is back online. So for the second time today here it is.. Please advise if it doesn't work. As with other videos that feature copyrighted videos it may not work for folks in the UK and Germany, perhaps some other countries. Enjoy!

WV is wild :p

That is the biggest understatement! For the uninitiated, West Virgina is also known as the mountain state and will quickly make you forget about Deals Gap. You're basically riding along twisty roads going up and down from mountain to the next...for the whole day!

Be careful about tractor trailers barreling along barely over the yellow line with their wheels tipping. These guys don't slow down around tight bends!

Imagine a tractor trailer going as fast as a car along Forks of the Credit including the hairpin except the road is narrower, tighter, and with multiple hair-pins. You've got to see it to believe it!

AWESOME - Totally awesome!!

Any chance of posting Google Map links to the routes?

thanks for sharing! gonna plan a trip for next year!
