You don't neccesarrily wait til your 25... Just have had your g for five years with state farm. I pay 78 per.month on 250 with multi line discount. And I got m1 like 3 months ago. M2 a month ago. I'm under 25
Hi all. I just got my M2 a few weeks ago and there was a young guy in the class. He had the same complaints about insurance costs. He did some digging and found that it was going to be affordable but only under 100cc. He wanted a full bike not a scooter or ebike so we did some digging and found a 1979 that fit his requirements. Proper bike with only 100cc engine and he can get half-way decent insurance rates for a few years while still in school then upgrade once he's out in the working world. By then he'd have a good record too.
Also, something my agent suggested was a personal liability umbrella policy (PLUP!). I got a $1MM policy that covers ME and anything I do/drive/ride and then kept bike insurance to absolute bare legal minimum. With a $1000 deductible you're almost covering the cost of a starter bike anyway so why bother with anything like fire/theft/collision.
