New tires, not sure which one.

Figured I would get some advice from someone that might of sported the Dunlop Road Smarts. Last summer I went with the Bridgestone BT-003 and really liked them, however I heard those Dunlops were a great tire. Was thinking of getting them, but wanted to know if anyone had used them for aggressive street riding and what the results were.

Have only heard good things about them, but look into the Roadsmart 2 :) Will have to bring it up from USA, but it is supposed to be longer wearing then the Roadsmart 1 and grip better :D

I used the Bt003 last year as well, like them but then put a set of Diablo corsas and what a difference, best tires I have tried yet.

And you guys can tell a difference on the street?

Pardon me while I call bulls*** ;)

I used Dunlops when i was riding aggresive on the streets, and nearly ended up on my head three times.

But your going to get lots of views on which tire to ride on. Even the BT 16 tire, we did well with and we were riding them on the street and doing track days with them.

Honestly you can't? Get off the timmies parking lot ;-)

Hmm, Diablo Corsas, I haven't heard a lot about those tires, might have to look into those as well. What was the mileage on those like ?

Really eh ?, I heard Dunlop was always pretty reliable, but I have always stuck with Bridgestone. I went off to try some Pirellis a few years back and thought they were ****. Ended up going back to Bridgestone, I used that BT-016 tire and felt it was actually pretty solid, then decided for the 003 which I felt worked a lot better ( 016 had better mileage, and was much better for wet weather though ).

I got 9k and 1 track day on those and they were scrubs to start with

I had also used BT016's on most of my bikes and would swear by those (crappy when cold or wet) but so far the Corsas I am the most impressed with.

If you're looking for longevity, try Avon Azaro AV45/46. I've put on 17K kms so far. Front needs changing now but the rear has a good 7-10k left. They are fantastic wet weather tyres too with the design to shoot water away from the centre. Outstanding tires. I wud def get them again.
Do note, they're sport touring tires. They may or may not be what you're looking for depending om the type of riding you wish to do. Although they do take corners very well too.

When I buy tires I get whatever is the cheapest, it's all the same **** when you ride on the streets it's a freaken tire what's so special about it? Bought a pair for my bike at the end of last season and couldn't tell you what they are without going to the garage and reading the label, who cares.

Modern sport touring tires can't be over ridden by 99.99% of riders on the street... especially in Ontario. Buying anything softer is a massive waste of money.

Corsa! Best tire on earth! (For me)

Had the 016s, couldn't stand them. And they wore out real quick.

So far, did 3 track days, one dragstrip night, and about 6k of fun road riding last season. Still lots to go for this season.

Best tire I have ever ridden on thus far. Have a fresh set ready to go when these are done.

Yeah man, Dunlops are unsafe didn't you know? They're only rated to 12km/h and should be used on tricycles. It definitely couldn't have been rider error that had you nearly on your head 3 times.

:)rolleyes:) can't find a big enough rolleyes smiley for that

We got a bunch of Rossis on this board.

No love for Continental?

I'm a big fan of the Road Attacks! I had the Road Attack 1's on my YZF-600R and now got the Road Attack 2's on my VFR800. Sexiest looking tread out there for all the Timmies guys and enough grip and warm up super fast with their Black Chili compound.. FIYAH!!!!!
