I've had my 2018 for a couple of years (bought new in 2019) but I'm digging the new one. More chiseled.

Main changes: Throttle modes, quick shifter, bigger tank, new LCD screen.

Hmm. The front looks better. The side profile is a step back and to me looks crap. Glad to see they’ve smoothed out the torque and power delivery. Hopefully it has lost the herky jerky throttle action it had. Instrument cluster is an improvement as is the quick shifter. No mention of the rear shock being new, seeing as it’s the one thing on this bike that definately needs to be changed. None of the additions make me want to sell mine, and seeing as insurance on this bike is high, I don’t see many younger people rushing out to buy one just because it has the usual electronic gadgets that their generation likes.

That gas tank is huge

Good job Suzuki

Except the headlight looks like a gloryhole

I had a 2016 for 4 years. Great motorcycle for the money, awesome engine. Plagued by throttle snatch, hopefully the electronic throttle fixed that. I see a new cat there, I guess the sound got muffled even more - thanks Euro 5! Headlight is a nice update over the old halogen unit. Not bad!

I felt bad for letting mine go this past winter, but the beast 3.0 filled that hole in my soul right up. ;)

I have the faired version and was looking forward to this reveal to see if I would trade mine in for the new faired version (I do some touring so not really interested in streetfighter style bikes) and... not a single mention from Suzuki about a new faired version. So either it's cancelled, or they are separating the faired version into its own category and will announce it at a later date, and possibly moving it upmarket to compete with more expensive bikes like the Ninja 1000. But most likely it's been cancelled.

I replaced my throttle tube with the new Katana's and it's been better. Suzuki made the 2020's GSX-S1000 come stock with the Katana tube.

Totally agree on the "great motorcycle for the money, awesome engine". I'd throw "solid reliability" in there too.

I love the new SuperDuke 1290's too but my damn shorty 31" legs make it tough for me as it is with the GSX. Always had a thing for V-Twins that can rev.

Solid reliability indeed. Mine was under the 5 year warranty program, I can see why Suzuki were totally comfortable offering that. Easy to maintain and keep in top shape (courtesy of keeping everything simple, a lost art in the era of adaptive cruise control for bikes lol). As an example, I changed the spark plugs at 4 years (did not have to, late fall itch to wrench in the garage), they were looking brand new :).

Over the years, I got used to the throttle, only to realize how much better it could be, when trying the SDR (totally different animal. Yes, it revs alright!)

Mine was the red-black version, simply beautiful! My daughter still can't get over me replacing it!IMG_20190623_171201.jpg

Glad to see Suzuki did not tinker too much with the formula (exactly what I would have changed - new headlight, ride by wire, a bit more modern bodywork, although this is just a detail), as the foundation was solid. Hopefully they will keep it priced competitively.

Seems like the UK guys are saying the price is the same.
