Hey Guys!

My name is Nick and I have been using this forum (reading every thread possible) for almost 5 months now to keep up to date on everything and stay in the know, although I just decided to create an account about 2 months ago.

I am finally buying my first bike this upcoming December and I couldn't be more excited, I plan on being a very active member on the forum and stay as involved as possible!

Long story short I just wanted to say Hi to all you riders and hopefully i'll see you all around/at meets in the near future!

Ps - I am currently in the hunt for a good first bike, I am thinking about buying a trusty ninja250 because I haven't heard anything but good reviews, what is your say?

Welcome.
Great first bike. Hold off to one of the bike shows and negotiate hard to purchase on the spot if you know what you want.

Will do! I am turning 16 in december and have decided I would rather get an M license before a G license as I have had a passion for motorcycles for so long and it will allow me to be more independant. I only plan on buying a 250cc to start (I must pay for the license + moto school + bike + insurance), has anybody had any experience with being a young motorcyclist and how much insurance will cost?

Check out the Insurance part of the boards, especially this thread:

If you want to know more specific numbers, try calling a few of them to see what it'll be like. Warning: if you're just turning 16 it will be pretty high.

Thanks for the advice! I had been reading through that thread for quite a while actually and it offered a lot of awesome info. I'll be sure to call around soon to get some quotes. My dad wants to get a bike as well at the same time as me (father - son sort of thing) and I figured if I went under his insurance as a secondary would it help lower the costs? I know my 19 year old brother does it with his car.

@AL3RT - I've heard! I'm really interested in getting one as a nice beginner bike to learn the basics and than in a season or 2 I will upgrade to a CBR6000RR or a Ninja ZX-6R. The 250 will be perfect for my daily commute to high school which is about a 10-15 minute drive.

Thanks a bunch! I was actually looking for some good online stores to purchase my gear from soon. so far i`ve found revzilla.com and now I can also check out daytona, does anybody else have any good online stores to order from or good shops in the newmarket/aurora/richmondhill area that they have had good experiences with?
