I thought the R1 would be a notable step up with such a major redesign.
Some initial reviews have been out since February. Let's just say those people are impressed.

I really try to use the following cliche as rarely as possible, but Yamaha’s produced a game changer with the R1 and R1M. After overhearing several of the assembled journos from around the world, and chatting with the other Americans, we were all in agreement: the R1 kicks ***.
