Those guys had a good laugh over it.
He deflected all blame for quite some time.
"never happened, report is not true." were the words that stick with me after the story broke.
Government has announced tax payers are not on the hook for replacement plates.
Here's what most people seem to forget, you cannot please everyone.
Half scream for better government, lower costs, put our tax dollars to work. So they outsource to China where *gasp* you get the most bang for your buck. Then when sourcing news breaks the other half scream about Canadian jobs. Then you get the 1st half on your back again about paying to get out of contracts, paying more for what we could have got from China.
Rinse and repeat.

Saw two of these plates again tonight. First time seeing them at night. Could not see EITHER. One was actually on a car parked on a sidestreet as I drove home from my sisters - for a few as drove towards it I legitimately thought that the car had no licence plate at all on it - only when I got closer did I notice that it was one of the new plates.
The second car was on the 401 in front of me. Could just make out the blue swoosh, but couldn't see the plates numbers at all. Only when passing could you see them...somewhat...once you got to a certain angle.
Pitiful. Someone needs to get fired over this - how this ever made it through 1+ years of "testing"and nobody noticed something as obvious as effectively 0% nighttime visibility is stupefying.

You cant read it at night. Also I noticed the white/yellow license plate light shining on the new plate makes it hard to read off of dashcam footage
donate thousands of $ for the great idea to my favourite charity if you feel compelled.
Then print FARM on them, and it will take me an extra 1/2 hr to get to work in the morning.

Now that I've had a better chance to assess them, they're only impossible to read when you're directly behind them at night under direct headlights. They wash-out. They shouldn't have made the blue part reflective, just the lettering, or at least make it less reflective. In most other instances I find them easier to see.

Has anyone spotted a new commercial plate yet? My truck has commercial plates simply because it's 3/4 tonne, and I need to renew my sticker this week so just curious...
