New MV F4RR are in Ontario

That's funny you don't get more outdated than Moto Guzzi... and I know I had a 1981 Le Mans back in the day which funny enough looked leap years ahead of this. Moto Guzzi do have a cult following though.

I was waiting for you to chime in Simon....... they were talking trash on the 916 design...... lol

Some folks want a radically new design every year or so. Some folks like designs that stay consistent with the classic from which they were derived. Think Harley, Guzzi, MV, Porsche, Lambo, etc. I see nothing wrong with that.

In fact, one thing that has always annoyed me about most Japanese designs is their need to mess with success and completely redesign things all the time.

You're absolutely right, actually the Japnse bikes they're getting better not going to change the style every two years, like for example the r6- it is the same style in the last six years..i like it better that way, and hopefylly the panigale they won't change the look otherwise will be the ital/jap!!

One person stated that the 916 design didn't impress him style wise. Does that qualify for what you just posted or is one person having an opinion differing from yours against the law?

I like the Brutale but that doesn't change the fact that the exhaust welds look like someone was just learning how to weld that day. Maybe corporate stats tell them everyone replaces the pipe so it is not a sales issue?

BINGO! We have a winner.
If you compare the seams on the limited edition F4’s (like the Senna) you’ll notice they appear to be less visible.

People may hold different opinions and are free to voice them. However, one opinion with no factual data to support it cannot hope to stand.
With regards to the design of 916, it has won more awards over it’s life span then any other five models combined. That’s not my opinion, that’s a fact!

Thats a 2007 ^ with totally different pipes.

New ones have the 4 nicely finished tips coming out of a metal box that looks like it was put together in haste as a complete afterthought.

That's hilarious and is contradictory. You're writing that someone can have a different opinion but then noting that it has to be supported by factual data? About looks? Wow.

An opinion is something some ONE person believes. Also, there are no "facts" when it comes to perceived beauty. Most people think my bike's front end is ugly. I think it's beautiful. I'm not wrong. I'm just in a minority. One could also describe that view as discriminating. I've never worried that the majority of the world don't hold with my views. I'm not running for election. And in my opinion, the 999 is more beautiful than the 916. I don't care how many design awards it's won. And frankly I don't care what you or others think of my opinion. You don't agree, fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But don't presume to tell me I'm not entitled to a different opinion from the majority.

I much prefer the 999 style to any modern Ducati before or since.

I also prefer unfinished alloys, and raw welds. But I hate bling, and much prefer parts that appear to be "works" parts right off a race machine. Function over form.
But that's me.
