New Kawasaki Z650RS

How come every time something new like this comes out, someone gets their knickers in a knot about what it isn't instead of examining what it is ?
A retro bike, based on an existing model at a real world price.
When the new KLR came out, all I heard was waah, waah, waah - its not this or its not that.
If machines like this attract new riders or reattract older ones, what's the problem ?

My problem was all the hype around it...people were speculating that there would be a Tenere 700 competitor, and then they unveil it and it's an ancient bike that weighs even more now. Huge disappointment.

I also just don't see the market for it. There are just so many options in that price range now, plus you can buy a used one for pretty cheap. Very curious to see how many they'll sell.

100%
the klr will face the same issue the supersports did, there are tons of used ones around, no one will buy the new ones, as there are so many better alternatives available in 2021.
Base model or not.

People on a budget will get the cb500x or vstroms
people with cash will go the KTM route or the T7
