NEW HTA LAWS: Open visor/ One hand handlebars

I recently heard that starting this season cops are issuing tickets for the following:

1)riding with one hand on handlebar (careless driving)
2)riding with visor's open (distracting other motorist)

Can anyone confirm these? Or provide a link to up to date HTA.

I heard it was stunting for both of those.

Same as standing on the pegs, using more than 2 fingers to grab the brake/clutch, or waving. You are better off just staying home.

I also have a bridge for sale.

Was fixing my glove, or hand was numb
2)riding with visor's open (distracting other motorist)
Bug splattered on visor and couldn't see.

Answers above to waste court time by beating them instantly.

I passed a cop the other day with my visor open and both hands off the bars fixing my glove. They didn't bother with me.

...how in the world could riding with an open visor be a distraction to other motorists? May as well charge motorists for driving with their windows open! That right there tells you all you need to know.

The visor open thing is stupid.. some helmets don't even have visors..

I don't think either one of these are new laws. BUT I also wouldn't at all be surprised to see a cop issue a careless driving ticket for riding with only one hand on the bars.. I do it myself, but I can see how it can be taken as careless..

The problem with HTA 172 is that one could stretch one's imagination enough to believe the above. Unless the OP has some proof that the police have additional direction in this matter I will continue to wipe my visor in the rain using my finger. I will continue to open, to some degree, my visor to get air flow.

Re the visor, IIRC that some states that do not mandate helmets do mandate eye protection with OSHA approved safety glasses.

Pretty difficult to use hand signals with both hands on the bars.

I didn't say there wasn't grounds to refute the charge.. just that I can see the charge being issued..

Based on your knowledge of legal precedent and data of police issuing tickets for the above of course.
