New head phones or new phone?

I'm the type of driver / rider that always needs to listen to music. On the bike it actually keeps me more focused and concentrated. My dilemma is I've always used cheap piece of **** skull candies with the wire because they fit in my ear well with my helmet over it. Every wireless bud I've seen is large and sticks out too far to slide a helmet over them.

So I think it's time to also upgrade my Galaxy 8 phone that I've had forever. However all the new phones have got rid of the audio jack for headphones, meaning no more music when on my bike. Does anyone know of a good phone upgrade that still has an audio jack, or perhaps a good pair of wireless buds that are small that will fit with my helmet.

Lots of good Bluetooth options that bury the speaker in the helmet

How about a decent Bluetooth receiver to keep using the ones that fit you well? Not the most elegant solution but will allow you to keep using the buds that work for you.

Samsung Buds+

getting the helmet over them is no problem, but they will snag when taking it off so i just pull them out first. great quality & battery life and they also have ambient tech so you can talk to people around you with them in.

instead of a new phone get a good Bluetooth headset for your helmet and spend some time placing the speakers in the right position. I can hear music while wearing foam earplugs at highway speeds and there’s no wires to snag and nothing to fiddle about with when putting the helmet on. I used to wear wired earbuds but I’d never go back now.

Actually, now I think about it, for the cost of a new phone you could probably get a decent new helmet with a built in Bluetooth system which, for me, is better than one of the bolt on versions.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I just bought 2 new helmets this year, so I'm not too keen on spending another $600+ on another. I've read a number of threads about the wireless ones you can fit in the helmet, but wasnt sure if I wanted to **** around with the inner helmet to configure them properly. What ones did you buy jc100? I was also thinking of the pack talk from Bold but have read mixed reviews.

I was going to get those for the gym and instead went with a Beats headset. I'll check them out online.

I've had all the big name ones, Sena, Cardo-Scala. I currently have the one that’s made by Sena for Nexx helmets and it fits right in. Before that I had the one made by Shark for their helmets. I like the built in ones as they are a bit sleeker but all the others worked well too. Speaker position is crucial. If you’re off by just a few mm then it will sound too quiet. Took me a while to get it just right.
