It's theoretical purpose is improved heat transfer. Most cooling systems dont boil anyway (not hot enough and under pressure). Theoretically it runs cooler (or the thermostat runs less open) with mocool.

It's named a bit weirdly on the MSDS, it is not "free" salt.
