New cbr600rr

With Aprilia ,suzuki, and yamaha all coming out with middleweight sport bikes, I can see honda bringing their own version with the middleweight hornet/transalp platform...

Although I've looked on every manufacturers website, besides honda, the rest have all been updated post Eicma....
so doesnt look like the 600rr is even coming to canada. (nothing about the hornet or its sportbike derivatives either)

They already have the cbr650 for the mild-mannered sportbike-with-better-ergos segment.

Meh inline 4s, not a fan

With everyone releasing odd firing p twins these days, it would seem I am not alone

Do what everyone else does, get what everyone else gets, split the sales for the segment with everyone else. Do something other than everyone else (4 cyl versus twin), then there's a better chance of snagging sales from people that don't want what everyone else is doing.

Having grown up with 4 cylinder powerplants, I prefer smooth power delivery, and I find big twins to be coarse and rough (and I just spent almost two weeks with a hired one in Europe). The small-displacement ones (like my R3) spin fast enough to cover this up, and are not objectionable. There's something to be said for not doing what everyone else is doing.

Maybe I judged them too harshly...would be willing to test ride a ninja 1000 or versys 1000

I was at 2 wheel yesterday and they had a few Versys 1000 in stock.

Might have to wait till spring for test rides

Actually the show room downstairs was full of new bikes and their used showroom upstairs was also well stocked. Lots of KTM's in the used section.
