If you're gonna tour, you could have gone a lot worse........that would have made my cross-country trip last year, a little more bear-able......I know you didn't build it, but nice bike !

Wow....enjoy

Just got back from a 260km ride on my new GTL. GREAT machine. 40k/h, 6th gear, 1000 rpm, and twist the throttle and go!!!

Here is the first time I sat on it. (BTW the Canadian dealers were told to hold off deliveries till next week)

Hey Garry.

Nice meeting you at the Budd's open house. The colours of the bike look a million times better in real life. What a stunner.

Many happy miles to you!

Garry,

You haven't posted anything up in this thread for a month. How about a full review?

I am drooling over the GT after the Cycle World bit on the two bikes.

OK, I've done just over 3,400km so far. It just goes, twist he throttle and you are in ticket country. I can go around town at 1100rpm @ 40kph in 6th, twist the throttle and go. When I get up to 80kph I feel like I should be shifting. I've ridden in all types of weather. Because of the fly by wire, when you go into Rain mode and it feels the rear tire spin, it throttles back for you. In dynamic mode the throttle is instantaneous. Suspension adjust is great Comfort-Normal-Sport, there is a definite difference between all modes. Over all I think it will be the "BIKE of the YEAR" this year. Esther says it is more comfortable than our LT. It is definitely a great comfortable bike for long distances and it handles like a 400lb sport bike, very easy to maneuver slow or hi speed. It does not feel top heavy. 5.7l/100km, (49miles/imp gal) so far. Easy to change oil. I was ready to do my 1000km service in 3 days. The Adaptive Headlights work great at seeing around corners. Love that I can just plug a USB stick in and can play any MP3's on it without taking my hand off the handlebars. GPS - Scala G4 - cell phone work perfect. There is no real class for this bike as the articles say, it does everything great. There are only a couple things that are not as good as my LT, not as good wind protection and the PowerLet are in stupid spots, I've ordered 2 PowerLets to install. I've also added aux power to the top case so that I can plug in any 12v or USB items. At the end of the month I'll be taking it out to Edmonton, by trailer as I have a new job out there and need to take my tools out with me, but the first weekend I am there I am going riding down to the icefields and Golden, BC.

A Beemer with a topbox?!?! What's next, floorboards and handlebar tassles? :D

Seriously, though, congrats on the new bike! I am very curious to know how that new engine performs. Curious enough to try a demo ride some time this year if I can find one.

Congrats on the new baby :)

Beautiful bike.
I saw a GT the other day in traffic-It's a good thing they cost a fortune...that'll keep one outta my garage for a long time. The GT is the most interesting new bike to me in a long time. And I really love the colours....the bronze is so nice.
