Netflix?

So I'm going to be ditching the Bell satellite soon and want to try something else..... might go on tv hiatus but I was thinking about giving Netflix a try.

Did anyone use it/like it after the free month trial? I know the Canadian content doesn't compare to the U.S. Netflix but for $8/month it doesn't sound bad at all.

Ya screw cable, no one gets that **** anymore :p

Netflix is ok.. it isnt true HD content so if you are looking to watch 1080p movies and tv shows get a high bandwidth/mo internet deal and make friends with your favourite torrent or newsgroup site.

As for canadian netflix, it is actually the worst they have nothing worth watching. Look up how to get an american DNS and enjoy the much more extensive US netflix lineup, I use it and the US content makes it well worth the $8/mo despite the downgraded quality.

Seriously, forget cable $80/mo for any decent package when all thats worth watching is AMC and HBO because everything else is reality tv garbage and low budget lame prime time series that last 1 season and get scrapped because everyone watches reality these days.

The only reason to have cable is for HD sports but since there is no hockey on this year I could care less.

Ugh. Sites that stream video and won't buffer more than 10 seconds can shampoo my crotch. What if I'm at the hospital with my wife (kill me now) and want to watch a movie to pass the time? Netflix won't help you and even if you have wifi they will block it as the bitpig it is. Same with planes, etc.

Crap. I'm against casual piracy but sh!te service like netflix is why it is still the better option.

Unblockus for 5$ a month + Netflix for 8$ + Hulu plus for 8$ and your golden.

I have U.S. Netflix on my 360 just by changing a few numbers in the system settings. Have the Canadian version upstairs on the Wii (only pay once) Yes the American is far superior but Imo even the Canadian version is worth 8 bucks a month.

You can get Hulu plus even if you live in Canada?

Tell me more !!

Also have unlimited bandwidth.primus and yeah, do download some shows we like. Cancelled cable service when we moved into our new home.

Yeah, I'm about to scrap the cable myself. I got a wicked connection (25 down 8 up) that's unlimited and as of late I'm just downloading shows I like which are few due to the mass amount of crap they call entertainment. I'm looking to get a proxy as well so I can access the U.S. Netflix and what not. All in all its still far less monthly then rogers was. Enjoy this while it last people. It won't last as more and more people are getting wise to this.

This is my signature

I was disappointing to both the quality of the picture and the assortment but for 8 bucks i decided to keep it after the free month. Put it this way, Netflix in Canada is about 30 percent better than the movies you can find on TMN

Unblockus + netfix US is my service works well. Make sure you sign up as a us account us the 3 numbers from your postal code + 00 for a zip code for billing. Start your un-blockus.com first and the change your router setting to the ones you get from them. It then works on any device in your house.

I love my netflix US account via unblockus. I need to look into this Hulu business as I"ve never tried it. Worst is waiting a season is over and then some to get the full season on (ie: Walking Dead / SOA).

Ohhh lots of options....

The only reason why I wanted live TV was for sports, but with no hockey or baseball and football is almost over... no point in me having it in hopes of a 48 game nhl season that won't happen lol.

But for $8/month it isn't bad, but I would rather pay more and expand my choices of tv/movies. Hi Def isn't a big deal, I "obtain" hi def movies anyway for those that are worth it.

These days you can buy packages directly from the leagues you wanna watch, i.e. NFL League Pass, or MLB, etc.

Or, head down to your local bar and watch 5-6 games at a time while you enjoy a few brews and half priced wings. Win-Win.

Unblockus then you need to get an American iTunes account. Buy a vanilla MasterCard from 7 eleven or somewhere else. It'll cost you 25$ + 3$ something to activate it. Then go home and register the MasterCard with an American address. With the unblockus active sign out of iTunes and then sign in as a new user with a made up US address.

It has worked for me for the past month using it on every apple product possible.

I don't mind Canadian Netflix but I'll probably try the US version at some point. If you haven't already, make sure you adjust your settings to "high quality" on the netflix account web page...unless you have a low bandwidth cap in which case...don't.

Just a heads up, you don't need anything special to get american netflix. They just need to see that you're coming from a US ip, such as behind unblock-us, etc. If you access you're Canadian Netflix account from a Canadian ip, you get Canadian stuff, from an American ip, it will automatically switch to American.

Depends on your device if you have a Canadian account you can only get the Canadian site on a Wii
