Need to fight a ticket and looking for recommendations on who I can use

So I got a traffic ticket for failing to signal a lane change In Bolton while driving my car. I have two other tickets on my record that will be coming off soon and don't need another one (uggghh. I just want a clean record so I can shop around for better rates). So I was wondering if any of you can provide me with any recommendations for representation to help me fight this?

Thanks

Those flashing lights are decorations only to be used on designated holidays aren't they?

She didn't write that she didn't use her signals. She wrote that she was charged for failing to signal.

OP, sorry I can't recommend anyone. Check out the Legal subforum and you'll find lots of suggestions for how to proceed.

Something that silly, they may just drop at the first attendance meeting. If you haven't done so already, go to the courthouse with your ticket (within 30 days of getting it) and fill out the yellow paper indicating that you want a trial. That will buy you some time. Good luck

They should raise the fine for not using your turn signal.

People that don't use their signals should be ticketed and the charges should stay. Sorry OP but thats my opinion

So what's the difference between "she didn't use her signals" and failing to signal?" In either case, she didn't use her turn signal. Cop ticketed her accordingly.

The difference between the cop saying she didn't use her signal and her not using her signal can be HUGE. I've had cops say I failed to stop at a stop sign when I did in fact stop. I've had cops say that I was not properly licenced when in fact I was. I've had cops say they had the right to search my vehicle when in fact they did not. My point being that she was CHARGED with something. We have no idea from what's been written here whether she did it or not.

Yet you folks have all shown that cops are infallable. WHy bother with courts? Let the cops convict you at the side of the road. Or crap , we do have that with HTA 172...

Since when are forumites parents? OP asked for advice, not judgment or a morality lesson.

In my opinion check the yellow pages, I know in my area we have X COPPER, try them.

Be weary though with the "we win or it's free" lawyers as if they knock a dollar off your ticket that is classified as a win.
My buddy got screwed by them in a DUI case.

I think its more likely she is one of the 50% or so of drivers that seem to feel signalling is optional than the cop has decided to lie. But if I'm wrong, I apologise for my stern smiley

Is it true that signals are an option on some of the high end cars?
Try charged as above. It will be expensive.

They also give you the right to park in 2 spots ;)
So the one's that park in four spots are wrong then? How many points is failing to signal?

if your up to some research-ticket combat is a great site for handling court issues - just be prepared to spend a good deal of time reading.Really a wealth of information there.
Good Luck

Excellent first post Mr. Cage.

The different is huuuge. If she didn't use her signal, she thought that the law didn't apply to her. However, in order to fail, it's implied that you tried.
Maybe her finger just missed the turn signal when she changed lanes.

Good luck in court OP, but you kinda do deserve that ticket.
