Sometimes my own stupidity astounds me. I found out the surging I was experiencing had nothing to do with a lean or rich spots... it was a tight spot on my chain. I'm going to be rectifying that ASAP
Thanks for all the replies... yes cbcanada, I may still be on the lean side, but with 20/65/145 jets I shouldn't be TOO far off. New jets are on their way, so after the chain and sprockets are replaced, I will check out the powerband again and see what's what, hopefully no flat spots!
