Need my seat re-upholstered

Woops thought I replied to retro. Stupid phone. Can I get some info on Alpha? Would hate to wait all season for a call that isn't coming.

I cannot give an accurate account of what would apply to everybody, depends on their work schedule. I went in and asked when they could fit me in. None of this pick a number and wait for their call. I was dealt with quickly and had the work done within a week. I would suggest show up with your seat and tell them what you require and from there they will give you an approximate time. It is very much a matter of luck when you can be done. You will not be waiting forever. It is a Family run business and they are very proud of the work they turn out.

As "GateKeeper" is one of many to recommend this company and I also posted in reviews.

Great company, Take your sense of humour when you go.

One more week and I get my seat back, I will post, on how it turns out, and anything else, good or bad.

I went to them on a recommendation, saw work in the shop seemed to be of good quality.....they had good ideas, and helped out....

Sense of humour, is something to be desired there.....for sure...LOL

picked up the seat,,,,and I like it

just have to decide if I want the strap on it or not...

That looks amazing, does the price reflect it? Just tell me if it was over or under $200. Can you post a pic of the underside and how they attached the cover?

Thanks for the compliment....It was just over, came in at $210.00, ( a bit of haggling ) not bad considering a cover from overseas was about 90 bucks and another 60-80 to have it put on, I don't have the tools to do it with, and it's not something I wanted to even attempt. The French stitching is what brought the price up, I didn't want it just plain, what I should have done was some embroidery but forgot about it....ohhh well

they used stainless steel staples as well, so no rusting to worry about....

I think it turned out very well....

I am just stumped if I should use the strap or not....

Worth every dollar for that quality of finish. Stitching is very straight. Strap is handy but will make an impression on the cover over time. Put the tank back on, when you reinstall the motor, ride it around for a bit, then decide.

Um, I am so going to Alpha. I got quoted $190 if he could use my existing material. You got new material and foam and it only cost you $210, awesome.

What was your total wait time? Thinking of stopping in Saturday.

reuse existing material ? hopefully just the foam if it's in good/excellent condition, mine was and it was reused, plus a thin skim coat of foam was also put on to make sure the seat was even all the way around.

wait time....was like 7 days, I gave them 2 weeks and more, as I was in no rush, but they called me 7 days after I dropped it off, this included a weekend, so really 5 business days.....

Guys do remember, the price I got might not be the price you get, it will vary on the seat, material, any extra work needed, foam, stitching, embroidery, and so on, I paid a bit more because I wanted the French stitch,,,,the white stitching running the length of the seat on each side.....

do not email them....none of their accounts work...LOL, call instead, or just drop by, their web page is ok for location and phone number but email accounts don't work....

He wanted to reuse my cover it it works. Going to see what my quote at Alpha's will be.

This is a double top stitched seam, not a french seam. You sew the two pieces of material together, spread them out, and then stitch each side to itself. It is a nice look, but does not add any strength to the seam. If you want a strong seam take a look at your jeans.

^^^^^

LOL, what do I know, it's what the guy at the upholstery shop said it was, showed me the machine it's done on, it does both sides of the stitching at the same time

and there is some plastic or some similar material on the backside/inside of the seat cover, which is supposed to give it strength, and not allow the two parts to be pulled apart....

Is there such a thing for a sport bike? the ninja250 has a hard seat and I am in hopes on making it a bit softer while not increasing height... I don't think my a-- can increase padding this easily...
