Need Advice: Seat Solution For Touring On Sportbike

Yes they can - I have a Sargent on the KLR650 in Aus and don't need anything else for long days.
The Beadrider was a must have on the ST1100 and I think the main advantage is breathing and less you squirm around easily.
I'm going to Spain for three weeks later in May - you are welcome to borrow the bead rider tho it might be big for your bike - it's 14x14
It's weird as it feels too hard when you get on it and you figure it's gonna hurt over time - but it doesn't.
The Sergant is very good - I was surprised - I bought mainly to lower the KLR a bit so I could use the bead rider but turned out I did not need it.

I've heard very good things about the Corbin and the DayLong is just superb but $$
Worth the effort to get it right. Sometimes 1" risers can shift your riding position nicely as well - the 1" up and back on the St1100 made a big difference for cheap.

I've had good luck with both the Sargent custom seats and their World Sport Seat. Not so much with the Corbin due to poor fit, poor manufacturing quality (in my opinion), and because they weigh a Metric tonne.

I was impressed at how light the Sargent was yet what ever they use on the slab that is considered a KLR650 seat...it works.
The DayLong of course is a pig but a very comfortable one.

I've heard mixed on the Corbin as well.

Yeah sure, as long as you bring her back as you got her, I'm happy to swap for a bit lol

What rides do you have to choose from?

Oh damn, that sucks :( After getting spanked by a SV650s on the track I've always wanted to take one for a rip, so the offer is still open, if you wanna come for one of my rides we can swap swap :)

I'd sure try :) What tires you running?

There's nothing very specific planned for next weekend. We usually like to do a couple 507 runs a year (have you been there before)? We're working on a BIG ride soon (leave EARLY, be home by dark. Tour around Algonquin Park, 507/elephant lake rd/peterson rd, etc.). If you think you'd be up for that lemme kno :)

Nope, never been to 507, sounds interesting for sure! I'm running PR3s, so probably not quite the grip you're used to from a full-on supersport, but still one of the better dual compounds out there. If you're planning to do stuff on regular roads that requires more grip than the PR3 can give, you're gonna make me really nervous about lending you my bike ;-)

What bikes to you have yourself? I notice you mentioned that you have a few.

lol :) As long as they aren't Angel ST's they'll do just fine :D

I've heard great things about the PR3's, a few of my friends with viffers run them!

What gave you the idea I have lots of bikes? I've written off lots of bikes, but try and only own one at a time. Current ride is 07 R1 with the following mods:

Oh man, if you've never been to the 507... it's like forks of the credit, minus the houses, and about 30 minutes long :)

-Jamie M.

Yes... yes... the 507 is THE ROAD. Keep the fuzz there.

Once I get out to Peterborough or Beaverton I can do 600KM+ loops of twisties. :p

Yeah I'm really happy with em (PR3s). Even wrote a review on GTAM recently. Guess I misread your earlier post and assumed you had more than one bike.

Wow, sounds like you've put almost as much into mods than the original bike cost! Cool, if you crash my bike, i'll just keep yours :D

507 sounds like some serious fun! I've been to the dragon and ridden every foot of the BRP/Skyline from end to end, but never done this. Go figure. PM me next time you're thinking of going and we'll set something up.

Will do.

Saddlemen DO make the SV seat now. A rider in Ontario had one made for his 1000 a few months back.
