I'm willing to pay more for a job well done. I dont want an "apprentice" messing the tat up.

I wouldn't worry so much about an apprentice messing it up, not trying to play down your tat but Chinese characters are on the simpler end of the scale, unless you want some crazy shading done around it, I wouldn't worry about an apprentice doing it.

Got mine done by David when he was at bobbyfive and he's also a super nice guy.

+2 ... no tattoos from David, but was at Hebrew School with him when I was a kid! nice guy. weird to see his name pop up here ... his work looks amazing.

Anybody know any good colour artists in the Northern GTA? Most of the places mentioned are a little out of my way but i guess a good artist is worth the drive.

check Stingers in Newmarket if you want something local, on Davis drive
check their portfolio online for an artist you like

Personally I'd make the extra drive for a tattoo, check pearl harbour gift shop on Kensington

Lemur from Exotix Studios. Got a forearm sleeve from him last year. The colour and details are amazing. But obviously everyone is going to say their tattoo's were done well. I've had work done by other artists and Lemur is definitely my guy for the rest of my tats.

Almost all of my ink was done at stinger. They are clean and super nice but they deal more with the walk in clients than anything.

I guess i'll take a drive to get some good ink.
