The place I know and trust isn't taking anyone until next year at this point as they're booked full. Walk ins are 1 day a week and limited to hand sized - I'm looking for something significantly bigger.

Looking for a new studio / artist, preferably on the east side of the GTA, with a client catalog online I can review to see their quality. Not worried about the cost, worried about the quality.

Familiarity with true to form Haida design a bonus, but not essential.

A friend owns Solitary Studios in Oshawa. I have never seen the work in person, pictures look ok. I know covid was a mess of constant rescheduling for her. No idea on the backlog that she is dealing with.

Just for you PP.

Thanks, I'll take a glance.

Forgot to say, must have a spotless health inspection record. My wife is all over that like white on rice....and I can't say I don't disagree with the thought process on that one. ;)

Www.fliptatts.com is located in Ajax and know the owner Blas David.

Excellent custom work and well established. Highly recommend.

All style, formate, shading, portrait etc.

Think he rides a Ryker now but, has owned various motorcycles. Not that it matters. His craft does.

Highly recommend.

I worked with him at Desjardins and stay in touch.

You're not one of those guys who gets tats of asian symbols only to come home and discover that "Peace and Strength" tattoo actually translates to "Sasquatch stole my BBQ" or something, are you?

Funny you should say that.

When I was there in ‘17 I had a lot going on. Was newly single, first big solo trip in a long time and the 1 year anniversary of my mother’s death. So I had a local artist here make something which I brought there and had them ink me.

I did get Thai symbols on it and I did ask about 5 random people what the translation was. I don’t need ‘toilet seat’ written on my arm.

Took about 8hrs with one 10 minute break. $550 CAD. I was getting quotes in the thousands here.

Due diligence = good results. ;)

But yes, the stories of asian symbols in ink gone wrong from the "I believe everything I see on the internet" crowd is pretty hilarious.

I know Closed Casket in Ajax is good. I have no idea what the wait is to get in though.

My daughter has spent thousands lasering off tatoos. she had asian influenced and first nations influenced art and became tired of the 'cultural appropriation' conversations.
she is also vegan so like, wtf?
