nee Cruise Control info please

My O-rings came in the mail today from the States. I bought two for 7.00$ Got em in two weeks from Ebay. (cruise control ) They look like a really simple solution without the price. The opening ring of a condom might do the same. :) [cept I might not know if I was cummin or goin']
I ordered another Ebay O-ring style with a little strap hanging down to tighten and release it. Not arrived yet. I think in an emergency I could easily override the O-ring by cranking back on the throttle, hard. When it warms up I'll play around with it and check it out. Will report back in a month or so. And I also priced the Breakaway throttle lock with a phone call to a dealer in Cambridge (Ont)... over $300 when tax, and labour is added on.
That's about the same price as 85 Ebay O-rings should they wear out not including S and H.

Make sure that you can easily crank it back. Throttle locks don't need to hold the throttle that hard to work properly.

Stevie, I've been looking for something like this...

Where did you get the ring from?

the local CAT equipment dealer, it is part number 8M4991

It's almost April and the weather is improving though still cold. However I tried my cheap O-rings that I ordered from the US. RESULT: No thanks!... it held the throttle ok, but getting them on and off is difficult and a bit dangerous while on the move.Sliding the o-ring out of position takes practice. Once I slid it out of its position and it went right off the handel bar and onto the road. Rediculous!! Will do the Breakaway style.Would rather pay the money and get a device that acitivates and de-activates easily and safely.

anyone know where the local Cat dealer in Mississauga is - google is so cluttered with junk now - hard to find the correct website for location

I have a Kaoko throttle lock. It has a toothed ring that makes engagement as easy as rolling my pinkie finger. Throttlemeister is smooth and requires more dexterity. Not sure if they do a lot of cruisers though. You would have to check their website.

Thanks Gary.

Buddy has the Kaoko on his Vstrom - might look at that. Thanks for feedback. Will check the site.

I'm still thinking I will modify the Brakeway - paid enough for the damn thing.

I have factory cruise on my Goldwing and ran a throttle rocker on my Kawi Concours and prefered the throttle rocker. Full cruise is great where you are on a clear highway and never have to adjust but if you are constantly adjusting for traffic the throttle rocker is more natural. The downside is you can't drop your arm for a rest on a long ride.

That Go Cruise looks neat and it's cheap.....not sure which one as I have heated grips - likely need the fatter one.
Thanks for the tip.
