neat idea, or troublesome ?

Another example of why we shouldnt just let new members post without first posting an intro and getting approved by the mods

Many other forums do this, even gaming discords.

I'm sure lots of folks will be taking the person up on that offer...

 Interesting....

Is this a North American spec bike? If not - I don't think it can be imported at all.

Anyway, e-transfer me €250 as a deposit if you are interested.

Sounds to me like a listing for rental, not sale. Especially the part about paying AC to fly your bike TO Europe.
Agree. Ad is not well written, but I suspect he is looking for $100 a day to use his bike.

the part about paying AC to fly your bike TO Europe.
I think he is asking a rhetoric question there. Like don't get a bike in Canada and ship it to Europe, just buy my bike and ride tomorrow.

Then why put a price of $100? That just confuses everything. $1 is obvious it's a fake price, $100 may be a rental price, $xxxx would be a sale price.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Why give a bike history if you are not selling it?

Knowing the bike was well maintained would give potential renters more confidence. If I was on a Eurotrip, last thing I'd want is to be broken down and stranded in Bratislava without significant pocket change.

interesting find. thoughts? 2014 Honda VFR
When I have to read between the lines I lose interest fast. It sounds like he is renting his bike out but it could be a sell, ride and ship home deal as well.

The problem I see with long distance rentals through an individual is he likely doesn't have another bike for you there's a problem with bike number one. The previous renter is overdue, broke the framus valve, spilt blinker fluid on the tires etc. You're there, ready to ride and the bike isn't. Hiking isn't for everyone.

If the provider doesn't make the deal and costs clear I see it as a fishing trip.

The way I read it; He has legally shipped his Ontario registered bike to Europe, and would like to sell it, in Europe.
The sticking point be; to legally import the bike to Europe he had to sign a promise to export the bike OUT OF Europe. He can't legally sell the bike in Europe... he CAN sell the bike to YOU, in Canada, but YOU are responsible to get it out of Europe when you leave Europe.
Europe and N. America you sign a promissory note, the rest of the world you need a "Carnet de Passages en Douane" or CARNET
It could be a deal...
It could be buddy is trying to pass his problems off to some one else.
