So today around noon I saw it was brightly sunny and warm and decided to take a stroll. Grabbed by light jacket and started riding, but it felt hot and I thought it would be a nuissance to carry that jacket around so I turned around from about a kilometer away back to my house and put it away, I then took highway 27 north (from Toronto) all the way to Barrie.

Immeaditely north of Barrie I started to feel a little cool, then west of Barrie in Angus I started to have second thoughts about my jacket. When I hit highway 26 to Wasaga Beach I couldn't bare it any longer, I felt like it was late November, the temp must have been about 18 but at 110 km/r and wearing a sleeveless muscle shirt it feels damn cold! I almost froze to death and even had thoughts of buying a jacket from any Wal-Mart around the area. I headed back to Toronto and as soon as I took highway 27 south from Barrie the great cozy warmth came back again!

Awwww that felt good. I should had learnt my lesson from 3 years ago when I rode to Wasaga Beach one day it was 34 C and stayed there till sundown, then on the way back at night the temp in some of those country roads must had been about 12 C.... wow I almost died that night.

That's why I always wear a jacket. Even if it's warm because you'll never know. All the gear all the time, just in case

Well that's the problem, isn't it? Didn't your mother teach you anything when you were a kid? If it's getting cold you shouldn't bare it. You should cover it up.

You best get yourself a good motorcycle jacket with removable layers. I ALWAYS wear it... it's comfortable from early spring till late fall.
Plus... it's an added 'perk' that you get to keep your skin if you fall.

that happened to me on friday hahahaha I took Airport rd to Wasaga with my mesh jacket and when I got close to Wasaga wtf really cold!!!! I even bought a hoodie from the store at beach 1.
of course when I got back, it got warmer....

I ride that route every day. It may be a hot day but until the lake is brought up to swimmable temps there is a cold wind coming off the lake. That is what you were getting. You should have stopped for a break, found a spot shielded from the wind, took in some sun and warmed up. You probably would have got a second wind and powered onward.

I did that exactly to make it back! Unbelieveable how warm you get just by stopping on the side of the road and taking 5 mins of sunshine, actually if you stopped dead on highway 26 near Wasaga Beach it felt cozy, it was only after you started riding that the breeze clobbered you, after 40 km/h it felt as if God was turning on the A/C full blast.

i keep a light windbreaker in my tail
