I saw that on CNN LOL Did not cr*p pants but understand the sentiment.
 
lol way to cry like a little girl - but I understand, I am not sure if most guys would sound like that but hey..
 
The passing truck driver was from Milton and was charged. It was on Global the other day. In the first few seconds of the video you can see damage being done to the truck from the guardrail. I would go after the trucker for all I can.

So he can jackknife on the icy road conditions? Would that have been a better result? What is hammering on the horn going to do?

Hes going downhill, what exactly is trying to slow down going to do? Instead of 160km/h closing speed the crash would have occurred at 150km/h?

Honking..LOL there's a massive tractor trailer coming your way as you're trying to pass a snowplow. If that doesnt get your attention a horn certainly wont. In the end, that right there is exactly the reason i have a dash cam. If it wasnt for the video, there's a good chance that the insurance wouldnt have covered the damage blaming him loosing control and going into the guardrail vs avoiding a head-on.

I think you don't understand what I'm trying to say. He should've slowed down when he saw 2 headlights approaching him.

Hammering on the horn is still better than crying like a girl on camera. At least the trucker will hear his displeasure

Weird eh?
Slowing down will give the trucker more time/distance to correct the situation. I don't know how you just calculated 10 km/h difference but in that time I'm sure he'll cut the speed much more than that.

I'd really like to hear your corrective actions in this scenario

It is hard to see from the video how early the guy started trying to slow down, I do think he didn't react it early enough but also not sure if reacting earlier would have made any difference. Honking would have done nothing, the crying like a little girl at least made the video funny

it's always best to brake and avoid. In this case not much choice for avoidance other than surfing the guardrail....but any amount of breaking will increase the closing distance/time....it could have been a matter of inches or seconds and every little bit could have helped.

He did do the absolute best thing, most people would have lost control, he kept his **** together except for the screaming like a girl.

I do know what I would do, **** like this and worse has happened to me being from south america, I have been in an elevator that crashed down 3 floors and in a plane that ran out of gas plus a few crashes not caused by me, sounds like BS but if you are from anywhere outside Canada and the states you would probably understand - in my case I get really quiet, dead silence - once the situation is over and I am safe, I lose my **** and go ape **** on the person is some cases, in other cases I don't say anything and act as calm as it can be like when the minivan totaled my bike when it hit me from behind at a red lgiht, no reason for one or the other.

We are just commenting on a funny situation since no one got hurt, since when you became so serious?
