Triumph Street Triple is moving to a 765 engine with more of everything and a sweet TFT display. Look it up on YouTube, looks like a sweet machine.
 
Just saw from OP that they were looking at 3-5 year old bikes so I guess that 2017 Street Triple doesn't fit the bill ... but just think, in 3-5 years a 2017 will be 3-5 years old so ...
 
Only concern with the street triple, triumphs are rare, so I wonder how hard it will be for frekey to find parts and all

I'm riding 15 Street Triple right now. 2 weeks waiting for ordering parts. But they are way too pricey.( $1000 OEM arrow exhaust vs $ 740 Sc-project, WTF) Since they are manufactured in UK then... blame for the exchange rate.

the bike itself is fantastic, I do short ride, tour and track with it. only complain is that clutch spring is strong, will feel it when stuck in traffic.

I highly recommend the Fz07. It got the best reviews last year out of all of naked bikes that are around 600-800cc. It looks good (I think the Z800 also looks good), has power and torque. Well if you got money then the monster 696 or 721 would be nice hahaha...

I've been riding the Fz07 since last year and still happy with it (pardon my profile pic with the Sportster ^^). Also, it is perfect for girls cuz it's the lightest bike (400lbs wet) in the same category and displacement. I dropped it a few times (my bad ^^) but I can easily lift it up on my own.

Keep in mind 2016 and older models don't come with ABS.
Cons: not many mods available in the market.

:lmao: Check any online retailer (Canadian and US) including EBay or Amazon ... aftermarket parts for FZ07 come in abundance. Compared to Suzuki, Triumph, Kawasaki and Ducati, FZ07 and FZ09 are by far the easiest and cheapest to mod.
 
Personally I'm partial to the Kawi Z900, especially since you can get it without ABS. Old school, baby! Also, it qualifies as a naked bike but it's really a retro standard, but the new CB1100 is freakin' sweet!

If I were looking in the mid-sized category I'd take a long hard look at the new Z650. It has the same power as previous year but is 49lbs lighter! That's going to equal a lot of smiles on the road. :)
 
There are a lot more now but still not as popular as other bikes.

I test road a 2017 yamaha fz10. After reading all the reviews and everyone raving about it... semi impressed.. i like my 13' KTM 690 Enduro more. Not sure if your into Enduro but it's essentially naked. Maybe a Duke 690??

Of the ones you chose, the FZ07 is the best. Looks great, handles well, comfortable. I test rode a bunch of nakeds before getting a Monster. In my opinion, the monster had the most "character" as some put it. It's loud, rude, and aggressive! But also quite comfortable. It's got top notch brembo brakes as well. It isn't perfect by any stretch, but it is REALLY fun to ride! It certainly has an exceptional pedigree! You have to test ride one to understand. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, so opinions will vary in that department, but I think it is the best looking of the bunch! The XSR900 would be a very close second. As far as Ducati insurance premiums being high, I've only had my full M license for 1 year, and my premiums are well under $1000/year.

I also liked the FZ07, and the XSR 900. The FZ07 was REALLY comfortable, and the XSR900 looks fantastic, is quite powerful, and real comfortable as well.

I too loved the ride of the Triumph, but can't get past the bug eye headlight! I think it looks terrible!

I've got a 6N and I wish i got a bigger bike if not for the insurance (typical response these days)

But really.. If you can afford a bigger cc bike, get it.

The 6N is nice and comfy to ride as a commuter but does lack the responsiveness in supersport bikes and the features in the dashboard is seriously lacking

Also the brakes are so-so after a years worth of riding. I'm close to 11,000 and pads are still more than 50% but the brakes are starting to fade
